“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” Mark Twain Why we are born? It’s a question you either confront or choose to ignore. Around twenty-five years ago, I chose to confront it. And in that time – there are certain things I’ve come to know. I’ve come to know that simple answers are all too often distorted by self-interest. That the name of God is all too often misrepresented. That the name of His Son is all too often slandered. That the scope of His Love is all too often portrayed in the false light of limitation. That hypotheses and hypocrisy abound. That actions speak louder than words. I’ve come to know that to each thought there is attached a worth. And that the true worth of any thought is always measured by way of the benefit or harm it delivers. I’ve come to know that the one thing costing us our ability to see clearly is our inherited thought life. That all the well-worn, looplike, spliced-in thinking we’ve been saddled with was never worth keeping in the first place! That the only way to real freedom is not just a ‘change of mind’ but more importantly a ‘change of heart’. And that only by turning back (without pretence) to the demonstrated love of God – does this ‘change’ happen! I’ve come to know that ‘fear’ is nothing more than the soul’s response to ‘insecurity’. That ‘insecurity’ is in fact a falsehood. That with God – there is no such thing. And that as a man thinks in his heart – so he is! Copyright © W.L.
